Illustration Friday meets Emma "whiskers"

Emma has "whiskers!"
I said when I read the word challenge from
Illustration Friday.

Emma is a character I just started to look at again after along time sitting on a shelf collecting dust the artwork is new for a older idea and it has been fun to reunite with her

Happy Thanksgiving

“Behind every great man is a great woman”

If this quote is true that would mean I’m F@*King bleep bleeping amazing!
The first week of February I will be attending the Society of Children’s’ Book Writers & Illustrators Winter Conference and I have been putting my energy in creating a new portfolio for their showcase.

I started working on it early to make sure all my ducks are lined up in a row ( more lame quotes). But as I work on the last piece of my portfolio that stupid quote keeps popping into my head, and I realize if it was not for a group of women who I cherish this would not be happening from those who have encouraged me over the years and not afraid to say “you can do better!” to the one who sat with me a picked out what artwork should be showcased. With Thanksgiving around the corner I thought it would be an appropriate time to say

THANK YOU ALL!

(No name are given to protect the privacy of those I speak of and trying to figure out who should have been listed first may have caused unnecessary blood shed)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Beatrix Potter The Picture Letters

Beatrix Potter wrote her first stories in the form of picture letters purely for her own pleasure and the entertainment of children in her acquaintance. Years later she borrowed the letters back and published them in revised and enlarged versions now acclaimed as classics of children’s literature. This exhibition brings together twenty picture letters, including the earliest surviving picture letter, the famous Peter Rabbit letter, and others containing the original ideas for the adventures of Squirrel Nutkin, Jeremy Fisher, and Pig Robinson.

What can I say about this exhibit, if you love her books you will love this show.
  A MUST SEE!
