About Me

My photo
A little about my artwork: I interpret the words written on a page by telling the story behind the story working with pen and ink, watercolor and Photoshop, I fuse old techniques with modern ones to create a world that every drawing can speak to a child or grownups.

Illustration Friday "Myth"

So once again I am dusting off a illustration I did back sometime ago, to participate in Illustration Friday word challenge

I am still working on my other project so I can include it in my portfolio for the
 SCBWI 2013 Winter Conference
11X14 pen and ink/ watercolor
"The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien was the source of the inspiration

  1. Maybe...I've been known to sleep with my eyes open before...
Love the detail in the scales.

  2. Just pretending...keeping one eye opened, just in case! My 5 year old sleeps with his eyes open...freaky! Great illustration!!

  3. Replies
    1. I used my dog Hamlet as the model he used to sleep this way when he was alive.

  4. That does look a bit like a crazy dog pose. Wonderful details! And good luck with your SCBWI project!

    1. Thank you! If it was not for a bad cold that kept me from seeing straight I would be done, I just need to cut & glue it all together.

P.S. Also I added the picture I used as a reference

  5. I love your muse for this work! :-) Very clever, nice piece too
