You keep trying and trying and…well

Have you ever posted a comment to someone else’s blog? Most of us have.

Have you ever posted the same comment a half of dozen times because it is a new blog site and you did not realize that the post may be waiting to be approved by the blog host?

So you keep trying to post it over and over again; and yet you do not see that it may have worked but because there is no green light that says “SUCCESS!”

You keep trying and trying and…well

I did that today (1/15/2013) I could blame it on the odd hour of the morning (5:30AM) or that I did not finish my first cup coffee (on my 2nd now), or is that I forgot rule #3 ”Wait and see”.

I’m going with I forgot rule#3. So the question I always have is do I email the person? And say sorry for not taken a minute to look more closely at your site”.
Or hope they understand that you have no idea what you are doing and truly have no right to be allowed on the World Wide Web.

I am going with hoping they understand that I am human and make mistakes or in this case it may not of been a mistake because I don’t know if the comments to the post worked or not.

So if you are reading this I am sorry you may have gotten a handful of the same comment telling you I think you are truly an inspiration to me.

I don’t think it would bother me as much if I did not admire this person’s passion and love of picture books.

  1. No worries. I don't know if I've done this, though I am the sort of person to do it and worse. But I have gotten duplicates and quintuplicate comments and on my approval end I publish the first and delete the others. If the blog comments really are moderated, the blog owner will do this and fully understand what happened.
Don't let it deter your commenting. I've discovered, to my surprise, that I love the comments even more than (my own) posts. Some bloggers disable all comments. But if the option is there they want to get feedback.

  2. Ha ha! LOVE the illustration!! (That screen door is in need of some repair!) I have done that a couple of times, and people have done it to me. No big deal. I think bloggers completely understand what happened when they see multiples of the same message. :)

  4. I could lie and say, no I never did anything like that. :) But that wouldn't be true, The other thing I tend to do is start a sentence and hit post and have to do a second post to explain the first post.

    Love your illustration!
